Trump’s surprise firing of Attorney General Pam Bondi sparks big questions on justice, ethics, and “drain the swamp” promises. Reagan walks through Bondi’s tough-on-crime record, the mishandled Epstein files, viral oversight-hearing moments, and allegations of insider trading and conflicts of interest that shattered conservative trust. She then breaks down media spin about Trump’s “political enemies,” who might replace Bondi, and what this shakeup means for 2026 midterms, election integrity, and Gen Z’s faith in Washington.
What's up guys and welcome back to the Reagan Faulkner Show I hope everyone had an amazing Easter weekend with a lot of time to reflect on Christ's sacrifice And what he did for us that we can be saved I hope y'all had a lot of time to spend With family and with loved ones and that you just overall got to enjoy the very very special day That was Easter Sunday Now while we were having Easter and we were spending time with family and reflecting on God's goodness We also saw a lot unfolding in our 24-hour news cycle everything from Trump's ultimatum on Iran to the downed military pilot that was lost and then ended up being rescued and Everything that was happening there and in our military and overseas But one of the most jarring stories from the weekend was the ousting of Attorney General Pam Bondi on today's episode We're going to be diving into her dismissal her potential Replacements and the successes and failures of her tenure over the past about 14 months on Thursday April 2nd Trump announced that Pam Bondi would be dismissed from her position in his cabinet as Attorney General now much speculation came from this announcement, especially as it comes weeks after the ousting of Christine Noam who was cabinet. She was in Trump's cabinet. She was secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Now Bondi in her history had previously served two terms as the Attorney General for Florida she focused explicitly and Determined determinedly, I guess you could say on The opioid epidemic as well as human trafficking and these were initiatives that she brought into her time as US Attorney General as well. She focused very much on these initiatives among other things now Trump has heralded Bondi for her hard stance on crime as a G and as we have seen Crime rates have dropped dramatically since Trump's second term. They're the lowest that they've been since 1900 she also demanded that the death sentence be placed on the table for Luigi Mangione the slayer of the United Healthcare CEO and That the slayer of Irina Zaruska be held to the highest extent of the law and she was said quote Never again the light Excuse me, she said quote regarding Irina Zaruska's killer that he will never again See the light of day as a free man end quote. So very hard on crime. We can see tough on crime very emotional about violent crime murders homicides Drugs all of the things that we would want an attorney general to be passionate about to be involved in and to be hard on however Bondi has made some really Really serious missteps guys. These missteps have cost her the support of the majority of the conservative base to be frank basically all Democrats that she would have had to win over anyway, because they like very few of President Trump's appointments and of President Trump himself Now her first major misstep came pretty early And that was her announcement that the Epstein files were on her desk that the client list was on her desk It was ready for review. This was all the way back in February of 2025 and then we heard her say that the client list didn't exist So a lot of Americans were left wondering well, which is it does it exist and was it on your desk? Does it not exist? Are you lying? There is a feeling of a lack of transparency, which is completely understandable There there was a lack of transparency if it was on your desk, and then it doesn't exist anymore So we saw that this was in February when she said they were on her desk Then she said that they didn't exist the client list specifically then not until December 19th 2025 did the first release of the Epstein files come out? But at that point it was highly highly highly redacted and a lot of Americans were not happy with that They were not pleased with that Obviously that didn't show a lot of transparency for an issue in a scandal that many Americans were very Interested in especially since it had to do with crimes against children Then we got the second release of the files on January 30th of 2026 Which were also highly redacted and also led to a lot of turmoil regarding public opinion across the United States Then we had her congressional hearing with the Congressional Oversight Committee in February of 2026 Where Bondi clashed numerous times with Democrats and even Thomas Massey Even Trump admitted that her performance likely lost her favorability But he did however admit that he respected and was pretty proud of how she stood up to the Democrats But overall he believed that her performance lost her favorability in the eye of America and American citizens We also have the viral moment from this hearing where the Epstein survivors were asked by a Lawmaker if they had been able to meet with the Department of Justice and if they had not been able to meet with the Department Of Justice they were to raise their hands to which all of the attendants everybody that was there that was a victim Raised their hands that they had not been able to meet with the Department of Justice and Bondi had her back turned to them This was I mean, it was a meme but not a funny meme It was like people being very upset with our leaders very upset with our bureaucracy Calling it the swamp saying we need to drain the swamp because we were seeing this stark image of real Americans the you know the victims of the Epstein of the scandal and then we had Bondi with her back turned and they had not been able to get a meeting with them and You know per America the citizens the elected officials and the appoint the appointees they work for the citizens It was just a very stark image a very stark contrast of how we believe our government is supposed to work and I know a lot of people have their own beliefs about whether or not the Epstein victims are Saying it for real whether they are victims whether it's people trying to get fame or have attention there's a lot of debate back and forth and all over the internet and With all of that aside the image and the contrast was very stark It's a stark reminder of how our government is supposed to work and how it can end up working sometimes Then her next mixed step was with many conservatives starting to question her competence in December and January of 2025 and 2026 when Nick Shirley uncovered just the extent of fraud across, Minneapolis Minnesota and then again in March with the extensive fraud he uncovered in, California And this comes with other independent journalists uncovering other fraud in all of their states all across the United States We've been left questioning how seriously the DOJ is actually taking these cases how quickly they're willing to prosecute and why there has been So few statements from Bondi and from the department as a whole regarding the systemic fraud that is facing our nation Additionally, we're left to wonder why a brand new task force has been made with Vice President J.D. Vance heading it and how he's the one answering questions about the timeline for prosecutions. It's not Bondi It's not the Department of Justice It's not even the FBI or FBI director Kash Patel who has also been in hot water recently. It's the Vice President of the United States Who's talking about timelines for prosecutions and we have a new task force that Quite frankly should just be what the Department of Justice does in their day-to-day activities The fraud should have never gotten this bad. Now granted it got bad under Multiple multiple multiple presidential administrations. This didn't just happen under Trump's second term But I think it's a little surprising that we need an executive level task force when it's something that the DOJ should be Handling and should have been handling for quite a while now Bondi has also faced scrutiny over some of her personal situations during her tenure as Attorney General One of these was April 2nd 2025. This was the day that Trump announced Liberation Day was afoot It was the day he implemented his brand new tariff strategy Bondi sold shares of Trump media that valued between 1 million and 5.5 million dollars This led to extreme scrutiny because not only did she profit immensely off of this But the next day the stock plummeted and did not rebound for another week and a half Many have begun to suspect whether Bondi was you know insider trading whether she was using non-public information to make this decision and the overall ethical and moral impact of having the you know The person who is the head of US law enforcement engaging in such shady activity and another personal stir-up Pam Bondi's brother whose name is Brad Bondi He's a prominent white-collar attorney in the Tampa, Florida area has been representing many clients who are currently facing prosecution from the DOJ now one such client Caroline Amnesty served as a Republican lawmaker in Florida and was facing about 20 years for Allegedly stealing funds meant for kovat 19 relief before her case was dropped by the DOJ The DOJ states that Bondi had no involvement in this, you know She had no involvement in the case whatsoever and that the decision was made through the proper channels through, you know the proper hierarchy of the department but this does not stop Democratic lawmakers like Adam Schiff and Dave Minn from requesting an investigation into whether or not there was anything shady going on whether or not Pam Bondi had personal dealings and Helping one of her brother's clients get out of a 20-year charge that she was facing Bondi also faced heat for citing the performance of the Dow Jones during this February 2026 congressional oversight hearing and stating that it was over 50,000 points thanks to President Trump's leadership and that that is what they should be focusing on rather than the Epstein scandal this comes after You know Americans as a whole Republicans Democrats everybody in between had been extremely Disappointed and how the Epstein case had been handled in the transparency of the Epstein case she was sitting in front of a congressional oversight board talking about the Dow Jones performance instead of talking about what she was there for and trying to come to a conclusion come to some sort of You know, just not even decision I Understanding of what had happened and she's talking about the Dow Jones and saying they need to be talking about that and in all reality Americans are happy that the Dow is up But we want to know about the Epstein files. We want to know about transparency We want to know why we haven't seen any prosecutions It was not the time or the place to have an economic discussion about the value of the Dow Jones While this was not blatant incompetence or morally ambiguous it did lead many Republicans including some of my very own friends to question her integrity her Competence and the motives that she had for the Epstein case and the motives that she had for her role at the do DOJ as a whole it's difficult to say how many of these situations are actually accurate and How many are just mudslinging tactics that are being used by the Democrats or by political adversaries? But there's no question that all of these situations combined are not a good look for miss Bondi whether Accurate or not. They just they're not they're not a good look for her Conservatives have lost complete trust in her and her ability to Ethically to morally to competently and to unbiasedly perform her role as Attorney General We have seen almost an exponential decrease in trust from Pam Bondi We've seen a lot of Republicans turning their backs on her And of course, like I said earlier many Democrats didn't like her in the first place and their opinions of her are even lower than where we started Among Gen Z and Gen Alpha many have begun to question the depth of the swamp in Washington DC especially with the removal of Christine Noem and all of the Allegations and stories that have come up after her dismissal. This is including her alleged advertising scandal where a 220 million dollar contract was awarded to a company that she had close personal ties with it was I believe the spouse of one of her former staffers and it also portrayed her as like Kind of the star of this prominently riding a horse in front of Mount Rushmore Then we have her alleged affair with special-aid Corey Lewandowski I'm so sorry if I butchered that last name and now we have her husband's recently leaked truck cross-dressing photos Which are just a whole nother scandal in and of themselves then we have the resignation of deputy FBI director Dan Bongino before even his first year was up and then After that We also have poor opinions of FBI director Kash Patel regarding the investigation into prominent fraud a the Charlie Kirk assassination B and his personal relationship with his girlfriend and the corresponding use of taxpayer funded planes and vehicles For alleged personal use him flying to go see his girlfriend and to go to her concerts and to go do other things for personal Enjoyment after he had stated on a podcast a couple of years ago that these things should never be used for personal enjoyment for personal use or anything like that, so we're just seeing a lot of Potential swamp activity you could say in the cabinet right now and it's leading to a lot of distrust again Especially among Gen Z and Gen Alpha people who grew up watching 2016 Trump getting moved getting amped up by what he said and then seeing where we are right now and the state of things You know, maybe these things are just allegations. Maybe they're not true. Maybe they're just rumors again Maybe it's just mudslinging tactics from the left or maybe there is more to it We probably will never know to be quite honest with you now the left-wing media outlets They're trying to portray Bondi's firing as the result of Trump's anger at her not prosecuting his political enemies outlets like CNN the New York Times and USA Today have all told very similar stories about how it's likely that Bondi's ousting came from an inability of her to illegally prosecute Trump's political enemies her Kind of quote-unquote not going above and beyond to make sure that these people got prosecuted her trying to remain loyal to Trump But not break any laws or moral principles Now while there might be a grain of truth in this in that yes, Trump's political enemies have not been prosecuted These are not being presented fairly at all. Like these statements are not being presented fairly at all It's making Trump look like this authoritarian fascist that they want him to be so bad While not taking into account what these so-called political enemies have actually done Investigations have in fact been launched into individuals like former FBI director James Comey and former CIA director John Brennan But many such subpoenas have been stricken down by lower courts Trump has sought prosecutions for individuals including the two previously mentioned as well as former director of National Intelligence James Clapper former FBI director Andrew McCabe and All of this was kind of in response to the FBI's Russian collusion investigation regarding Trump's 2016 campaign Now, I don't feel like the media really covered this very much But a 316 page document from the Justice Department's Special Counsel of John Durham proves that Trump's Campaign was innocent of any foreign collusion with Russia and that there was such little Evidence to begin with that the investigation should have never ever ever ever ever been launched in the first place this places pressure on the Department of Justice to investigate the participation of the previously mentioned individuals and Others as they sought to illegitimize President Trump's first term through explicit lies politically motivated Investigations and the blatant misuse of the American taxpayer dollar towards a political witch-hunt While the media cites Bondi's termination as a result of her refusing to prosecute Trump's political enemies because it breaches her ethical and legal principles many conservatives see it differently and They actually see that she hasn't done enough to hold those accountable that have abused their power Abused American taxpayer dollars as a continuous effort to attack President Trump Now rumors are circulating Washington now over who Bondi's replacement will be in the interim We have Todd Blanche who served as Deputy Attorney General until last Thursday when he was promoted to US Attorney General Blanche served as a formal federal prosecutor and as well as Trump's defense attorney in three specific cases Including two brought and dropped by Special Counsel Jack Smith. Those two would be the 2020 election interference case Accusing President Trump that no No These are separate the 2020 election interference case and the case that accused President Trump of holding on to and retaining Classified documents and storing them at Mar-a-Lago. That was the one where the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago after President Trump's first term and then Blanche was also his defense attorney for the infamous Stormy Daniels case He also worked for the US Attorney's Office prosecuting violent crimes. These included homicides kidnappings And he also worked in private practice after his time in the US Attorney's Office and he made Partner at excuse me if I butcher these last names Codwalder, Wickersham and Taft LLP. He was partner in the white collar defense and investigations practice Now as a permanent replacement Trump is considering Lee Zeldin Who's the current administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency in his role there? Zeldin has been successful in repealing many regulations driving back many regulations and government overreach Regarding emissions and pollution as well as the use of wetlands and swamp areas Zeldin is also a lawyer at the time. He was the youngest attorney in New York in 2004 He also served 22 years in the military where he did some military intelligence and was also deployed to Iraq in 2006 Then Zeldin served as a member of Congress from 2015 to 2023 and he ran an unsuccessful campaign against now governor Kathy Hochul Already the media is mudslinging on Zeldin and who is surprised they are already accusing him of political misconduct during his campaign for governor against miss governor Hochul and They're citing an open letter with a hundred and sixty signatures from various environmental and health organizations Accusing Zeldin of ignoring the purpose of the EPA by repealing these governmental overreach policies in the department something that Trump was very big on when he campaigned was repealing these Costly policies these emissions policies these pollution policies because there was too much government overreach It was too expensive to produce products and it was too hard for Different US based companies to be producing these products now Other notable figures that are rumored to be in the running are Janine Pirro Harmeet Dillon Eric Schmidt and then there are a couple of others that are very unlikely But they've been thrown around on the internet by conservative influencers Including Penn cat Ken Paxton Alina Abba and Ron DeSantis now in the wake of Pam Bondi's Termination conservatives are really hoping to see like a complete realigning of Trump's initial campaign promises and also issues that have Arisen over the past 14 months during his second term. These include transparency and prosecution regarding the Epstein files obviously prosecution of the rampant fraud also obviously investigation and potential prosecution of the former government leaders who led the unfounded investigations against President Trump and His allies over the last what it's like 10 years now Which is crazy and also the potential prosecutions regarding the DOJ's probe into the 2020 election now 2016 Trump touted draining the swamp He touted eradicating unnecessary and unneeded bureaucracy and he touted restoring the trust of American citizens We're 10 years out and many conservatives are doubting the integrity of our leaders in Washington today, even during a full Conservative House conservative Senate and a conservative presidency and this is playing into our current polls regarding the 2026 midterms as Trump continues to clean house in his cabinet We hope to see more action more promises made more promises kept and a new hope that the midterms can be saved Because the concerned voices of Americans are being heard.
